Location: Irvine, CA and remote

Security Clearance Required: Yes, active DoD secret security clearance

Travel Required: Up to 100%, willing to deploy overseas to austere/non-permissive environments a minimum of four to six months at a time

Position Description

  • Performs a wide variety of nonstandard, complex task associated with UAV technical analysis, research and development, test and evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Tasking is accomplished by calling upon a depth of knowledge with UAVs/robotics and/or aircraft general maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Applies aviation/robotics principals, theories and concepts developing solutions to a variety of moderately complex problems supporting and assisting engineers with suggested product improvements and modifications
  • Position requires working collaboratively on teams supporting integrated RDT&E, working on projects relating to UAV’s
  • Position includes analysis of system failures using industry principles and concepts, and the creation and maintenance of relevant, clear records, logs and analytical data
  • Works independently with little to no supervision using extensive aviation/robotics knowledge
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Must be available for a flexible work schedule, available for extended or weekend hours sometimes on short notice
  • Position requires extended travel to support sites
  • Reports to the Chief Engineering, Program Manager and Technical Director

Typical Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field 1-2 years’ experience or, if no degree, 6+ years of related experience
  • Associate degree in mechanical or electrical field with cross-pollination in other relevant engineering fields (aerospace, mechatronics, robotics, etc.)
  • Highlight relevant UAS/UAV operator experience

Required Skills

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of UAV/UAS systems
  • General aviation or robotics maintenance, or technician background required
  • Strong background in electronics/ electrical systems maintenance/troubleshooting theories and concepts
  • The ideal candidate will have worked on many different problems touching on various disciplines
  • Mission critical systems experience a must
  • Microsoft Office and general computer skills are required
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Desired Skills

  • Experience with CloudCap Technologies (CCT) Piccolo Command Center (PCC) software is a plus
  • Strong customer service background
  • Customer liaison experience
  • FAA A&P certification and/or NAMP experience
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II medical certificate
